This was my first experiment with the recipe! I did not do pics because I didn't know how it was going to turn out. The next time I do this recipe (and I will definitely do it again) I will post step by step pics, here we go.

What you will need:

1. A good blender or better a food processor.

2. About 12-15 Ice cube trays

3. A box of plastic zip lock baggies sandwich bag size (I used Quart size food saver bags)

4. Optional: Food saver vacuum sealer.

5. Paper towels

I will start by saying I love Convicts but have fell in love with the colors of HRP's. I had a pair of Convicts a while back but the male died from something foreign entering their tank along with some other fish. The female Convict was the only fish that survived.

The HRP's I got over 6mo ago now havent paired or spawned. This is probably because they share a over crowded tank ATM. I have eight of these guys and I think five or six are females. I have been monitoring them for a couple ...

Fluidized Bed Reactor

Here is the fluidized reactor that I built.I got the design from someone in another forum,so I cannot take credit for that.All you need are some PVC fittings and PVC glue,a few compressions fittings,some flexiable tubing and a powerhead.I use a Maxijet 400 powerhead.The 1/4'' tubing fits right in the outlet nozzle on the pump.I use it with ROWA phos.I have a problem with cyano bacteria in one of my tanks and this is the only thing that helps.You could use it with charcoal,or ...

I have 2 community tanks that are my passion. I have had great luck with all of my fish. I started out with a 5 gallon table top tank.

I just wanted to see. How I would like it. Now I have been diagnosed with MTS. I then upgraded to a 10 and then a 20 gal. tank

I own 3 Goldfish, the 2 orange are fair/common/feeders, they where won (ping pong ball in bowl game) at the County Fair in my area almost 1 year ago (end of Aug.) & were not even an inch long, now they are 4" +. The orange & white one came from W-mart & was in the feeder tank for 28 cents. It didn't act right, obliously was kinda sick (had dark brown spots on it)so I did the Mela-Fix treatment faithfully. Soon be on the juice, got a screamin deal on a 5# bottle with regulators and electric silenoid < spelling 40 bucks and has 75# of co2 in it still.

I got a bunch of what were supposed to be Ivory Mystery/Apple Snails. Wanted to make sure I got both sexes so I have 18 extras to get moved out. You need both sexes to breed these guys, (& gals) they are the Pomacea Bridgesii. Their shells are more Jadeish-Tan/Pearl looking to me, otherwise they look just like the Ivory, white foot, white body & redish pink eyes.

They are over nickle sized but just under quarter & will grow to golfball size when full grown. Will not eat your live ...

Last night I was checking on all of the fish and I found 2 of my angles guarding a filter. Well lo and behold I found eggs . So proceded to move the rest of the fish snails included. But I think I interupted the happy couple. Well the eggs are gone I'm hoping that they'll keep going. They all get a variable diet. Is there anything else I can do to induce spawning?

Here is a video of my Red Cherry Shrimp & some Red Ramshorn Snails. The male shrimp seem to be a little more camera shy than the females.

I started with only 10 mixed sex sub-adults & juveniles under 5 months ago, now I have many, too many to count plus they hide inside of the driftwood.

Here is my new female JD. I call her bonnie on account of the male Im keeping her with is named clyde.

This is my new Pearlscale Eartheater. I dont know the sex of the fish so I just call him/her Geo.

Well I went to the LFS yesterday. I went in looking to add a few more silver dollars. I came out with a Oscar Cichlid. I used to keep and breed Oscars 7-8 years ago. I haven't kept them sense and thought I would never own another one. This is one of my favorite Cichlids...now that I have room for now in my 120g. My Males

These are 2 of my drops of M Guppies from my 2 pre-hit F's. At the time of the video the older/bigger ones were just under 3 mo. old. Accidentally put in 5F's, better a F in there than a M in the F tank The orange ones are Variatus offspring.

They are now 3 1/2 months from F1 (Nora) 5 days younger from F2 (Dora). 2nd drop is 9 weeks old today from Nora & 1 day younger from Dora. Need to find homes for them right away as they are starting to get territorial.
