hey all sorry i havent posted in a while busy time of the year.some of you may know i ve been trying to get metraclima auroras to breed. i just wanted to report that i just stripped a female that was holding 24-26 fry(theyre a bitch to count). ive had fish spawn before but this was my first spawn when i know 100% what the parents are. i wish i coud've seen which male she spawned with but im thinkin the sub dom male since the alpha male wants nothing to do with the ladies. how do you tell if a fish is too old to spawn? im guessin whenever that is my alpha male is that age. i wanted to record the process of stripping her but oh well. ill try to update this and let ya know how the fry are doin.

Just hatched brine shrimp should work I'd think. black worms are real popular with small hatchling turtles. Mike D was using some Hikari fry food with his gold JDs but I don't know if he started them on that or waited until they got a little bigger.

hey saint a freind of mine told me about a guy who had a turtle to get rid of. so i said ya ill take it cuz they were gonna just take it to the lake. well i get there and its a frickin 70 pound alligator snapper. ive caught alot of snappers in my day but this was the biggest turtle ive ever seen in my life. so obvioulsy i didnt have a place to build a pool for this thing. so i called a rescue guy out of chicago and he came and got it. i was laughin cuz my buddy made it sound like it was a small painter or somethin. ive never seen one up close so that was cool
