I had Mystery in with a male for a few weeks now with what I thought was nothing going on.

Seems like they were using the backside of a flowerpot to lay eggs onto, it's one of two spots in the tank that I can't see without taking things out. I was totally not prepared for them, so I have brine shrimp set up to hatch, and I'm also using some powdered egg and crushed to dust flake food.

You better get at least one tank ready Wyite. Smile

J: The Male is an Amphilophus zaliosus. The female, is a mystery Amphilophus, and why I named her mystery. Smile

Everyone has had different ideas on what the she really is. The closest anyone's had to agreeing on what Mystery is was Wyite's guess at Amphilophus chancho or my friend at the fish farm's guess of Amphilophus zaliosus. Given how Mystery ended up here, we ended up leaning more towards zaliosus since from what I've been told chancho is pretty uncommon unless you go out looking for it, and zalious does end up in fish stores now and again.

All the kids have been excited. I thought the parents were going to go batshit insane last night though for sure, I brought the 1yr old over to see them, he put both hands and practically stuck his head on the glass and screamed wow. There was a brief pause, and the two of them were furiously shoving fry back into the flower pot.

People who use the phrase like herding cats have never seen fish in action.

I took some pictures with my phone, but I want to get out the macro lens and take some good ones and post them up for you guys.
