| Ok so I'm going to discribe some actions 2 of my fish are displaying and you tell me what this means. I have a 55g tank with 1 JD and 1 GT. I was changing my hedgehogs cage when I noticed my GT picking on the JD which is 3" larger than the GT. I stopped what I was doing to see if I was going to have another fish going to Rick as I kept watching I no longer thought the GT was picking on the JD but something else was going on. The GT would swimm right up to the side of the JD and nip the stomach area, after the JD stopped flipping out the GT would again swim up to the side of the JD and this time nudge the JD's vent area. When the JD stopped flipping out again the GT would try to lip lock with the JD but the JD's mouth could fit half of the GT's face in it. Once the GT realized it, it would swim a little ways away and then fan its tail and shake it at the JD. What the heck is going on? | |

| The GT may be a bit confused. Almost sounds like a little courtin' goin' on there, could be territorial, though. That would be quite the cross there.

| They couldnt breed right. Don't they need to be closely related to do that? | |

| They can breed but the eggs may not last or be fertile. I would lean towards territory issues but there is always that possibility. | |

| Unfortunately, the eggs in your image appear to be unfertilized. In a few short days they will fungus and affect any viable eggs that may exist.
Fertilized eggs are an opaque yellow in color, whereas the solid white are unfertilized. Good luck the next time. | |
