| My 7 year old conned the guys at the fish farm out of a handful of their "fugly" guppies a few weeks back. They told him about how if he took good care of 'em they'd have babies. I thought he had forgotten about it, but I've been ignoring that tank just to see what he'd do and wouldn't you know it, last night he comes up to tell me that there's babies in there.
He's already talking about other fish that can have babies, and I was thinking of getting a few cons so he can see the egg laying variety as well.
Anyone else got any easy to breed egg layers that they like?

| Zebra danios. The fry are easy to raise as well.

| You wanna narrow that down a little Detroit? There's like 19 and half different varieties of 'em. Lamprologus callipterus and ocellatus both look neat. Are they all easy or are some harder than others?
Wyite, as for the danios does that go for all of the danios or just the zebra? On the list for the fish farm for this week besides zebras, they have Chela dadiburjori, Inlecypris auropurpureus, Leopard, Red, Green, Yellow and Xacco Macrolepis.
Pics of the red, green and yellow looked dyed, but I know they only get dyed fish in on special order. Unless they're those genetically engineered ones.

| My white clouds breed pretty readily. My diamond tetras make a quick meal out of them though. The best part about the white clouds is you can throw some java moss in a tank with no heater and they do the rest. I do have mine in a heated tank so maybe that's why they breed so frequently. I have found they are a very undemanding fish but very pretty all at the same time. I have never caught them eating the fry. Best thing is here they run about .99 cents a piece. | |

| I have some white clouds and some cherry barbs that were supposed to be feeders. Maybe I'll try separating them out and see how that works out.
No need to order fishies if they're already here.

| Be careful if you breed Cons! They make MANY babies and they are hard to find homes for since they are VERY prolific breeders! | |

| The snapping turtle alone would polish off a batch of 50 in a single sitting if I'd let him. A single sitting for him is about 30 seconds. | |

| Yea. They can get out of hand fairly quickly.
There's a flower shop near my mom's house that has an indoor pond maybe 600 gallons. Someone (we don't know if it was intentional or not) put in a handful of pink convicts. Within a year, they had practically filled the pond.

| Planning on getting a pair of Cons, don't Cons breed at a very small size, like 2 inches? | |

| Yep. They start getting at it around 2inch. They don't have quite as many as they would when they're bigger, but they still have a good pile of 'em. | |

| yeah, I just want something, I no luck with livebears (last female guppy I had was about to burst when she died cause of the current, I shouldn't have cleaned the filter of Java Moss). Cons are also cool but, I just may not put the Firemouths I get with them, Cons may be smaller than most, but win against the Strongest Oscars when protecting young.
