| well, tank isn't set-up yet, just sking about the Almond leaf, what will it do? I want to try to accomplish a P.H. of 6.5-7.0 and a temp of about 78F. Also, I want the water close to the hardnss of the Amazon, and would like some tannins for a natural effect. And no Wyite, I don't plan to release these. | |

| Indian almond leaves lower the pH in the water. I've used them in my Discus tank. Heres a Link Click Here | |

| Why not use peat to get the color and soft ness your looking for? you can put a bag of it in your filter and it works good. | |

| Most fish store carry it in diffrent types of containers then you just buy some filter bags and throw them in just do small bags at a time. You could also have a container full of water and a small filter in it for pre mixed water for changes. I used it for breeding discus. | |

| If all that ya want is the change in water conditions, then Corvette is right, and peat would be easier, Senegal. On the other hand, leaf litter can be interesting decor and fits with a flooded Amazonian forest biotope. I've seen some cool looking set-ups with leaf litter on the bottom. | |

| The leaves do you look pretty good also. I might add leaves instead, I have a bottle w/ a hole in it and the oak leaves are at the bottom, gonna see how this'll work getting tannins in the water. Also is some Cambodia bits from my batch, all but 2 stands got stuck in the filter. I've never noticed it, but LF Zebra Danioos look like African Butterflies from the top, except blue and small. | |
