| So this year my girlfriend wants expensive jewelry for christmas and in return I get to ask for 1 big gift. My dilemma is do I ask for a new 65g tank or do I ask for an asian arrowana tattoo? The tattoo would start at my writs and would wrap around my arm and stop at my elbow. | |

| I voted for the tattoo! It was a hard choice but I was thinking of more ink for Christmas and new ink is hard to pass up! A new 65g is also hard to pass up but the tattoo will last forever! | |

| I voted for the tank. I'm an artist, and maybe I have ADD, but even with that there isn't a single solitary thing that I can think of that I would want permanently stuck on me now, and would *still* want stuck on me when I'm 70. No offense either but I've prolly watched one too many Yakuza flick that I sort of wonder about how that would look on a white guy. You designing it yourself or you have a pic or something? Also, I know girls and their jewelry. Go for a 90 or a 125. | |

| I would love to go for 90 or 125 but my girlfriend is afrade that the tank will go through the floor! Thats why I didnt finish my 135g. I dont think I'm going to care what my tatoos look like when I'm 70. I have a picture of the arrowana and my tattoo shop I go to only does sailor jerry and asian style. Im still up in the air! | |

| Unless your floor is really crapy I wouldn't worry about anything under 150g going through the floor. | |

| More than likely true on the 150.
Either check online, or stop at your local township building too, they have building code books that should tell you what the maximum tolerances are for your building.
Another thing to do would be to check where the load bearing walls are located. Sometimes you'll have a nook or something where you can use that outcropping for your tank. | |

| You could always place a piece of plywood underneath it to distribute weight! | |

| Thats a good Idea! I live on the second floor of my apartment complex and in my fish room I have a 55g, 72g, 25g, and 2 10g. Thats the reason why my GF is worried. My plan is to move my red head, JD, 2 cons and my last GT into the 72g, and move the contents of my 55g into the 65 gallon and I would have a the 25g, and two 10g empty. Im going to use the 55g for africans. I told my Girlfriend that my tattoo would be over $400 and the tank would be less than that so looks like Im getting a new tank. | |

| I have a 135g plywood tank that isnt finished. If I could bring it up I would have 55+72+135=262g and having 262 gallons on the second floor frightens my girlfriend so I'm stuck with 55g, 65g, and 72g untill I get a house then I'm starting my LFS! | |

| No, I meant, that if you take down the 2 10s, and the 55 and hide the 25 somewhere else. You can be all look, I moved out these and these, the combined gallons being equal to a 100. Taa-daa! This also depends on just how observant your gf is too. Just recently my mom replaced a 6 gallon eclipse with a 27 gallon bow front dealy, and my step dad never noticed and I think still hasn't. He's alot like your girlfriend where he thinks some tank is going to explode through the floor at some point too. | |

| Shes not that observant. It took her a month to notice my Sydontis Eurptis and 2 months to notice my 20" Red tiger Lotus. | |
