I've found that so long as the SA/CA guys are small enough, the africans are fine.

I've gotten in a bunch mixed like that and mostly everyone has gotten along. Reminds me, I still need to take a picture of the new rescues and see if you guys can id them. I've never seen these types and I haven't found them in my book.

I'm sure they're fairly common, just not ones I usually see. Smile

I have 9 sevs right now. 2 adults and 7- 5 to 6 week old fry. I love my sevs. Here's some pics...

Very cool. I'm guessing all that's in that tank is sevs? They get kinda mean breeding from what I've heard.

I got them about 1yr ago when they were 2" +/- the male is now around 6" or so.

They eat a varied diet. Some Ken's growth pellets, some regular pellets, veggie flake, regular flake, and frozen mysis, bloodworms and spirulina. Sometimes I throw in some plain veggies. They will eat just about anything.

I use zebra danios for dithers but they tend to get picked of now and again by the sevs (live food). I had a school of 6 about 6 to 8 months ago and it's down to 1. I also have a BN in there. When there's eggs the BN doesn't go near the area. The sevs sometimes get aggressive towards each other too.

Yea. Mike D sent me one to rehome, and he was a belligerent little bastard. Wink

I can only imagine how insane they'd get breeding.

For the most part I find the sevs to be pretty calm fish compared to other medium to large cichlids but they are a little crazy when they spawn.
