I don't know a whole lot about betta breeding but I do know someone who used to breed. The reason she stopped doing it was all the individual housing required to raise them. She had cup, bowls and dividers everywhere. Just something to think about.

i have heard you need to keep them seperate tell the male builds a bubble nest at the top of the tank. then you put the female in. once she lays the eggs in the bubble nest remove her and the male will look after the eggs tell they hatch.

i am new to breeding myself. But the research i have done has stated that. don't know if that is for betta's in general or just the crowntails that i was checking out.

Yea that is how you do it the hard part for me has been keeping the fry alive. The males will sometimes eat the fry or eggs. Also I have heard u should also either put like dark paper on the outside of the tank when you put the female in and leave them for about a day take out the female and see if you get some babies in about 3 days
