I asked on TFF and many said a 3' tank, or 200l of water. I asked Brisch, and she said a 20 bare minimium. I was asking beacause I'm getting a 4' tank and wonder if a full grown Male GT can fit in my 29 gallon, which is 106 litres. I am just wanting to make a Male GT's life better. He needs more room than a 12" cube. They have 8-9 GTs that are full grown males that have been there for atleast a year, some longer, some shorter. They all have been raised to 7-8" and then returned to store beacause of aggression.

A 55g tank is minimum for a Green Terror for several reasons. One they like free swimming space, two they will not have enough territory to claim in anything less then 55g. I keep two Green Terrors in a 75g with some tankmates and they do well but still have territory disputes now and then. Also larger Cichlids will create a large bioload and need to be kept in clean water.

ok, I guess I'm not getting one. I know you have experience, and ur the fifth person that reccomends a 55 or larger. I will look into the other adult cichlids no one wants due to aggression. Maybe get some of the Boucourti they can't sell well, I have seen they 20 they had at first when they were an inch, now they are 3-4" and only about 15 remain.

I'd say a 40 breeder or 55. Ya lose a foot of the length of a 55 in the 40 breeder, but gain the area back in the 18" width. IME, GTs won't miss the few inches ya lose in hiegth.
