| We saw a few films while I've been offline... but cannot remember which films it was... saw the Tarantino on with Kurt Russell... Death something? Utter rubbish!!! Oh how dissappointing... if it wasn't for the fact that we'd rented it I would have broken the DVD in two. | |

| Pokbq: I think you really need to know and enjoy the old 70s exploitation/grindhouse films to really appreciate Death Proof. Did the UK have that sort of movie phase? I enjoyed it, but in a "I see what you did there" sort of way. I watched Ju-on with the wife this weekend, and now we randomly meow at each other. I can't make the other noise but she can. Oh yea! You all need to go see "Let the Right One In" It's a Sweedish vampire horror/sorta romance (really) flick about a 12 year old boy and a vampire girl that looks 12. It's subtitled tho if that bothers some people. I know they have nothing in common but it's tied for best film of 2008 for me with Wall-E. | |

Ah, that was the name of it... I've blocked it from my mind... sadly I cannot block the fact that I wasted over an hour of my life seeing the film... ROFL! First part of the film was pure boredom with the girls... this is where a film is supposed to be able to build up some sort of relationship between the viewer and the actors... which failed miserably... - Spoiler:
if Stuntman Mike hadn't killed them I would have! lol!
Then for the actual killing... this is were as the viewer we're supposed to be in suspence and horror... eh... it was over in 10 seconds.
Oh why oh why did we rent it?!? Ooooo... that vampire film sounds like a bit of fun.

| Mike. I just hit IMDB to find out who the hell Jenna Jameson was. It didn't occur to me that she was *that* sort of actress. On the plus side I think I will have no problem convincing my one friend to come over for this one. He usually finds my movie choices really odd. Max Payne was based off a video game, which sadly, no matter what they did was going to end up sucking. Not sure what sort of weird jinx there is on movies based on video games. I still want to see Twilight. I read the books and they were enjoyably horrible. I've heard the movie described as Troma meets bodice ripper romance novel. | |

| Eh. Pirates looks like straight up Pr0n. That stuff bores me. Tho I always did get a good laugh when I was back in college and some friends of mine used to watch that stuff like it was professional wrestling. (Which i guess in a sense it is.. ) | |

| Wall-E was goddamn amazing. It should win movie of the year, but oh no. They'll end up giving it to the stupid dark knight movie I bet.
Yep. Flame me now. The Dark Knight was snoozetastic. Christian Bale sucks as Batman. Heath Ledger did a great job with his take on the Joker, but even he admitted he couldn't beat what Jack did back in the day which is why he took it so differently.
I think Michael Keaton so far did the best (non-cheese) Batman. The Adam West Batman is awesome in it's epic cheese, and his semi-reoccurring role on the Fairly Oddparents as Catman is full of win.

| It's oke Mike. I'm used to the reaction and abuse. I'm not sure who would make for a good batman now, but I just didn't like what they're doing with this take on it and I really don't think Bale is a good batman. Not that any of the movies after the Burton take on batman was any good either, mind you. | |

I beg to differ... I think he's the yummiest Batman of them all! lol! We saw Mama Mia (with my partner absolutely hating me for getting it... and he liked it even more then me - lol!), which was a lovely happy film. Then we saw Hancock... which we expected to be rubbish... and it was quite enjoyable, definately worth a watch if you got nothing better to see. Last... ugh... we saw the new X-Files film... we'd saved waht we thought was the best for last - it was pants!!! It might have been ok, if it was any other crime film... but it's supposed to be the bloody X-Files! Nothing X-Files like about it... dissappointing. And then last night after coming home we watched Silent Hill again... I like it!

| If you had watched all the tv episodes of the x-files up to the point of the movie, it apparently made all sorts of sense. I know people who *loved* that movie. These were the same people that also took notebooks to the movie to compare notes. No, I was not one of those people. In the WTF category we watched Christmas Evil. Er. Um. Yea. Or something. As I said while watching it, where are the three talking heads at the bottom of the screen. | |
