season is over for tropical lilies . Not a lot of lily pad cover on the pond but the blooms kept coming despite the weather.

My water lettuce is still going strong even after a freak snowstorm. Are yours native? Native plants are pretty sturdy.

I had some water lettuce, my oscars ate it. Smile

Seriously, Steve, your picture isn't showing up.

I see that, Ill try to repost it later this morning. Maybe Im doing something wrong!? That lily happens to be a tropical but I do have hardy Nymphaea as well. I got rid of my water lettuce a few years ago and replaced it with Bog Bean (Menyanthes trifoliata). It delicately creeps across the water and the koi love swimming through the roots dangling beneath .

Here is a night pic of the pond, you might have to click on the link till I figure out how to post pics. For some reason they are not posting.

Steve: Here's a little write up on how to post images, hopefully that will help. If you're still stuck just ask.

I haven't seen a fish yet that doesn't eat water lettuce, or turtle or my cats for that matter either. I have some overwinter with the axolotls with a metal top to keep everyone else out.

Thanks Wyite, that Nymphaea is called Foxfire. Medium spread tropical lily that pushes a lot of blooms. My pond is about 1500 gallons. It metered around 1400 gal then I added a 250 gal waterfall box witch has Way to much splash and will be changed in the spring.

A couple of the guys and the waterfall box...big pink Img_6610[/urlbig pink Img_7110

That teacup lotus is beautiful but will only have 4 or 5 flowers through out the season. The foliage makes it worth keeping as it softens cap stonebig pink Img_7111[/urlbig pink Img_7112

Nice pond, great set-up. Thanks for sharing the pics. I tried to set up a pond, and the wind kept evaporating roughly 30% of the volume daily. They don't call it Wonderful Windy Wyoming for nothing! I may try something bigger someday, but for now I'll do without.

Very nice pics and the pond looks and sounds very nice. I know the video was low budget but glad it worked for you!
