    Deal or Steal Empty
PostSubject: Deal or Steal   Deal or Steal EmptySat Nov 19, 2011 9:41 pm

I couldn't pass this one up this morning. I was cleaning a house two doors down and they were setting up a garage sale. When I finished up I noticed a tank and stand. Looked like a 40g or 55g at first glance. I was going to just keep going because I was working but decided to stop. Indeed it was a 55g with stand, it had a light strip and tops and UGF plates. I asked how much and I was suprised when they said $20 for the tank and stand etc... I pulled a $20 out and slapped it down without much thought at all. Anyway went back after work, picked it up and filled it with water to test for leaks....so good so far, it is 20 years old but looks like it has been re siliconed at one point in time. I was needing to move some of the fish out of the 120 as it is full as hell right and water changes are killing me....

    Here it is, holding water....

I used to have that stand, but now only have the tank. I have a 55 tall to match your setup though, and about the same vintage. Smile

Good luck trying to break it. Wink

I got home today, someone forgot to turn the light on. Found it was pretty cloudy checked and had some nitrites .25 no ammonia though and 10ppm Nitrates. Odd cause I squeezed out the filters from the 120g and used a half of sponge from the AC filters in the new filter... Cycle may just be playing catch up I have never had a problem with seeding this way before. Did a 50% water change, will do some reading tomorrow.

Here it is all set up (took last night)

Another 24 hours should probably do it. I've had that happen when seeding before.
