So...I know fishkeeping is the best hobby Very Happy but what are your other hobbies? Just wondering if anyone else is as nuts as I am. As you can tell from some of my other posts, one of my other hobbies is fishing. It helps me relax and I also get out on the water and see places in my kayak that most people will never see. Recently I have decided to take on another hobby which will help me relax even more. I've decided to start making my own wine cheers

A fishing buddy of mine makes his own and has agreed to show me how to do it. I was skeptical at first but after trying his wine I was sold. It's something I have been interested in for a while now and this was the kick in the pants I needed to start me off. Now once I set up another tank (soon) I will be able to kick back with some homemade wine and watch my fishtank with some fish in it that I have caught myself Wink

I use to fish all the time in my younger days but now its a camera not a fishing pole. Sports, landscapes and mostly floral close ups. I find it relaxing and other then the lighting it never gives me a hard time. Its funny out of several thousand pitchers on my hard drive I only have a few of people. My family likes it that way, they don't feel the need to run and hide when Im around.

Used to hunt quite a bit, fell out of it when the kids got to school, sports, scouts, music lessons, etc. age. Need to just go out and get a camera, then photography would move up to the top of the list behind aquariums. Seriously thinking of getting into tae kwon do again, mainly for the excercise and spiritual aspects.

After that, well, my hobbies run the spectrum of OMG-what-a-nerd-dom. Ran a D&D game for 20 years, still get together with the guys once in a while when life allows it, but it ain't so cool to be too close with the boss who got ya the job I guess, no matter how long ya knew him before he got ya there. Paint miniatures and make dioramas, mainly 25 and 28 mm, but also other sizes, mainly fantasy/sci-fi and some historical. Read a lot, some fantasy novels, but mammalian evolution is my true love, got an entire shelf of books on the topic. Investigate Bigfoot and grizzly bear sightings in southern WY and northern CO, actually just enjoy cryptozoology in general. Don't necessarily "believe" in Bigfoot, but do find the mixture of folklore/legend, hoaxes, sightings by sane respectable people, and unexplained evidence without a solid scientific explanantion intriguing. LOL, 'tis a wonder ever found a woman to marry me.

I do muay thai and run quite a bit. I'm training for the upcoming Spartan race in our area, which should be a blast. I also love food and learning how our bodies react to it -- which is fun not only as a gourmand but it proves a nice complement to the hard training.

I read a lot too. It doesn't really matter what -- novels, history, science, fantasy, ... I love it all.

Also, animal behaviour and psychology.

Nice! I wish I took up a martial art when I was younger. Not that I'm old...I just don't seem to have the time any more. Maybe I need to sign the kids up for some lessons as an excuse Very Happy

I didn't think I'd have the time either, what with working full time and being in school, but it really creates a more balanced life. I'm more productive all around. I sleep better, eat better, work faster, am way more confident... The list goes on. I'd recommend it to anyone.

A guy just signed up at the dojo last week with his son; they're taking the same class, and seem to be having a lot of fun. Just an idea... Very Happy

I sound like I'm selling something, but I really I'm just a true believer in how martial arts improve quality of life.
