so two weeks ago beore my boss left for vacation, he told me i had to take down the corner office tank and have it gone before he was back or it was getting a hammer. so i now have a drilled corner tank in my living room. ive always wanted one, and i just couldnt beat the price. So as soon as i get some lights for it( i didnt want vho actinic and reef) ill get some pics up

Sweet deal! Can't beat a free tank. Was the fixture one of those specialized deals that ya couldn't switch the actinics to something like a 6700K bulb? I'm thinkin' VHO and 6700K flourescents would be the beginning of a sweet planted tank.

i did think about it untilli took the light apart. the bulbs and balasts were promised to someone else as were all the saltwater sidh from the tank. Ive gotten away from almost eveything but t5 lighting in th elast 3 months. not as much heat as even the power compact lighting i was using. im thinking about fillignthe tank with cardinal tetras, which is somethoing ive always wanted to do but never have. I have a piece of driftwood in the tank now that takes most of it up, and am lokignfor some java moss to cover it with.

tank is still cycling, and coming along nicely. i have a light going on the sump 24/7, and algae is growing in it already. The chunck of driftwood i managed to stuff into the tank i think finally soaked up enough water to stay submerged on its own. It does however seem to be growing hair. Still no lights on the main tank though. Oh, and i did put a cycled hot mag on the sump too.
Im leaning towards a tank full of cardinal tetras and possibly hatchets, something ive wanted to do since i was a kid. And im pretty sure my L191 is going to get moved out of the planted 180 into here also.
