Off to Petsmart...main mission is to get Prime for W/C today I am hoping to not come home with more fish or tanks...wish me luck.

I agree Paul. I've always had good results with their fish. Maybe it depends on the particular location.

I've never had any luck with there fish. They die with in a week of being to introduced into my tank.

i would never buy there fish, i dont wanna pay money for disease lol, i dont think its by location i have heard more bad said about them then good, and all the ones around here are a joke but if yours is good then you got lucky

I think it's totally by location. I got 3 near me in different locations.

The one closest to me, is amazing for what I've heard about petsmart. The building was also only built 2 years ago, which may be part of it. Anyway. the people in the fish department actually really know things and I've plenty of times helped them rehome problem fish. Once they found out what I do, they asked then actually set up everything properly for their reptiles. Things may hit the pooper if/when the current managers leave but for right now they're really good.

The second closest petsmart is a dirty filthy disgusting hole. Petsmart had one of the koi foods on super clearance and I stopped to get some more bags. (Since I wiped out the good store by me) and ugh. I wish I hadn't. Tanks with koi with visable sores and oscars with severe hole in the head and blah. Don't even get me started.

The third is sort of weird. It's half the size of the other two, and doesn't carry nearly the selection of fish. They keep goldies and a very limited selection of tropicals, which all looked okay. Not amazing. but at least healthy looking.

Well mine run at about 90% good...I have bought all my fish I currently own at Petsmart besides some of my Africans. That being said IMO I have some very healthy good looking fish. I have only had 2 deaths in all the fish I have bought so that is probably about 2% or less. Anyway lets not turn this in to a Petsmart bash thread....I just said wish me luck I don't get anything besides Prime!

Nah. I don't think it's Petsmart. I think it's the people that run /work at the fish stores and how much they care, chain shop or otherwise.

So how'd you make out anyway? I didn't see any new threads about fancy new tanks, so it sounds like you made it out with just prime.
