| This thing isn't cycled yet and it's beginning to piss me off... :angspmd: I dosed with ammonia and took some rocks, driftwood, filter media and now a bio-wheel from an established tank to help speed up the cycle and nothing. At first it seemed like the test results were pointing towards this thing cycling quickly. Now it has slowed to nearly a halt and I'm way too impatient...lol. | |

| The cycle is slow this time around for some reason. I have cycled other tanks this way literally overnight. Adding fish may defeat the purpose of a fishless cycle. | |

| Well the ammonia finally hit zero on this tank after just over 2 weeks since adding the ammonia. I still can't figure why the seeding with established media doesn't seem to be working as well this time around. Anyway it will eventually be cycled. My nitrites are up a bit now too so hopefully I won't have to wait 2 more weeks to get some fish in there. I'll keep you posted. | |

When ammonia is 0 (which it is) and nitrite is 0. | |

| More good news today even with adding ammonia the ammonia level is still at 0. The nitrite is still showing but nitrate is up to 20ppm. So there are some nitrobacter bacteria present which are converting the nitrite into nitrate... | |

| The back glass was painted black a few days ago and I need to get some updated pics. I may wait until I get some fish in there though. I'm going to test the water tonight and I'll list some updates on the parameters. | |

| Well ammonia is still at 0 and nitrite is back down on the charts and at 2ppm. Hopefully this thing will be cycled tomorrow or the next day... | |
