"Try" being the operative word, here, LOL.

I tried keeping some crabs years ago. They were red-clawed somethin' or another. Major escape artists, got out of every tank I tried 'em in no matter how well the tank was sealed up. Then I'd walk into the room and "crrrrruuuuuunch", dessicated crab all over the floor. They're kinda hard on stocking feet...

Cool pics, Ed. Why do ya have the male separated with the glass bowl?

The male isnt separated. They can get in and out of the bowl whenever they like. The fiddlers need to be able to get out of the water now and then so I filled the bowl with gravel, lay it on its side and use an airline to pump it full of air and that gives them thier own little beach. They are the best scavengers that Ive ever seen. Left over food, dead plant leaves and algee are all kept in check.
