    You could not run anything. I never use the stuff. There are other filter medias sold to remove organics, Purigen is one such product.

    insted of carbon I use an ammonia remover and it seems to be helping a lot.

    Chemical filtration is not necessary if you are running adequate filtration, not over feeding, and you are not over stocked. Some use bags of crushed coral in their filters to buffer harder water....some also use ammonia reducing products. It sounds like your set up from your other posts you wont really need to run anything but Bio and Mechanical medias.

    I use zeolite on the QT tanks, because half the time they're overstocked, otherwise I don't bother with any other chemical filtration.
