LOL Mike D, I guess we do need a King don't we?! You still got a long way to go though. I've got around, I can safely say 50 + Apple babies that have hatched along w/all of the adults. 4 more Apple clutches incubating, & 1 new clutch this morning. Countless Pondies & a crap load of Red Rams, a few dark brown Rams, a few tan Rams, 1 striped Ram, 2 black Rams, 2 white Rams, egg sacks from the Pondies & Rams everywhere, I think they are even in my ears ... lol 2 olive Nerites = best algae clean up crew known to man, 2 magenta Apples, 2 lite blue Apples, 2 olivie w/brown stripes Apples = just caught them mating, 14 Spixis/Zebra Apples & a crap load of clutches & don't know what to do w/them, 15 of the ivory/jades that I'm trading to saint_felony for a bunch of plants, 1 True Ivory M Apple, 1 Chestnut F Apple, 1 Golden F Apple, 3 of the ivory/jades that I'm keeping until they are old enough to sex & then only keeping 1 F, sold 3 ivory/jades a week ago. Wooooooh, I think I need a snail fettish support group!

The water wouldn't be too cold for them I wouldn't think but would just slow them down. I'm afraid to put any Rams & definately the Apples in w/my GF's, they'll eat anything, & I mean anything. I did put a few larger Pondies in there quite awhile back but where never seen again! Not sure of any difference between the feeding habits of Fancies compared to Fair/Feeders, but since my Pond Snail population explosion, I've been feeding some to my GF's & they love em!

| The only snails I've ever seen able to handle living with any goldfish are the trapdoor. Anything else, no matter the size seems to get nomed. | |

| Oh Yeah, maybe I'll get a few of them & give it a try. If they start harrassing the Trapdoors too bad I can always take em out. I can't even keep any Live plants in there w/them, they even eat & destroy Hornwort. Made a mistake months ago & put a 2 1/2 - 3" Marimo Moss Ball in there, hehehe ... never do that again. W/in an hour it was nothing but little fibers floating around. I'm hoping that someday I'll find something to put in there, I just love having live plants in all my tanks. | |

| I got half way down your post H_H and then my eyes crossed! I got scammed on the apple snails and cherry shrimp. I only got 1 snail which was DOA and 3 out of the 4 shrimp arrived alive. I asked for new snails and the seller said she was all out and the listing should have said 1 apple snail not 10. Im fighting with paypal to get my money back! I just got in 10 mystery snails from kim on AC and Im waiting on 33 RCS from an auction on aquabid. Looks like I'm starting a shrimp farm!! | |

| Hello , At this time I have spixi snail s and three cluches of baby's, Briggs in many colors couldnt tell ya how many LOL, ramshorn snails in all colors, olive nerites , mts, quilted mts, giant columbiam rams, red cherry shrimp , Blue/black shrimp, Hurastums (spelling?) I think that is all LOL I have become an invert junky and am always seeing something else I want. I would like to have many - well all other freshwater shrimps. My house is very small and tanks space is comming to an end. I have 7 tanks at this time . My newest snails are the huastums and they are tiny right now but will grow to be abseball size. I am excited to have these they are hard to come by. I feed my inverts just about everything including home made jello and seaweed salad. along with shrimp pellets flakes and fresh vegies. They also get calcium added to the tanks monthly. I am glad to see there are other junkies here too. I know now I am not alone LOL Hello My name is Kelley and I am an invert Junky. | |

| Snails eat anything organic they can catch, so you'll never see your dead shrimp for sure.
I have Apples now, (Cana), and they can make a 6" dead Comet vanish in about 45min. Mine are currently golf ball size, but they supposedly get in to the baseball size league as well.

| I currently have 3 ghost shrimp and a 2.5 gallon tank filled with pond snails. Breeding them for Masters thesis:) About to go pick up some free MTS. BTW, the goldfish will eat the smaller snails if you put them together. | |

| I just joined, so I'm perusing the forum and came upon this topic. Didn't realize at first that it is sort of old. But just to join the conversation, I don't have any where near as much as some of you! Wow. But I have two mystery snails, a brown stripe and an ivory. They are about the size of golf balls. I also have two apple snails, one is also a brown stripe, about the size of a plum (its either a small apple or a large mystery) and a nice golden apple, about the size of a baseball.
I never realized until I got these guys how incredibly cool they are. They are so entertaining to watch and constantly amaze me. I enjoy watching them float up on the bubbles. And I can't understand how something as large and heavy as my golden, can perch on the end of a plant without even bending it towards the ground. I would love to have more, but even with 5 tanks either some are overstocked or, with my goldfish tank and my betta tank, just aren't compatible. |

| Really? No snails in with the goldfish? The snails I have do fantastic in with the pokey goldfish. They're briggs, I believe.
I'd like to get apples again to keep in with the red tail cat that's here. Snails are so far the only thing I can keep in with him.
