Upside down Catfish.

So I've been reading to death a new book for the kids, "The Octonauts and the Frown Fish." It's about a bunch of sea exploring land animals that live under the ocean and find a Synodontis Nigriventris and spend the book trying to cheer it up because since it's upside down, they think it's sad. Sort of Hello Kitty cute, with some serious geekiness. One part they hold a costume party and have the fish dress up as, the doctor from Dr. Who, a Devo costume and a wizard labeled Magic User LVL 20. Yea, it's geeky. Wink

Anyway, so now we're on a quest to find some S. nigriventris and having no luck. Everywhere I've seen that has "Upside Down Catfish" all has S. eupterus, which gets kinda massive.

So have you guys seen them anywhere?

They sell them at almost all my local Petsmart stores, as a matter of fact I was going to buy some this past tuesday. I ended up buying more hatchet fish for the top portion of the 29g.

I'll have to see if mine can get them in then. The usual guys weren't in when we stopped, and the girl I asked couldn't find em and couldn't find a tag for them either. Thanks. At least I know they should be able to get them.

My local Petsmart doesn't have them on their auto-order system, so they have to manually get them back in when they run out.

I actually now have 5 courtesy of the secret petsmart fish master. (An older lady that doesn't want to be manager, but what she knows is just amazing) She's had hers breed a few times and told me that they're way happier when they're in a school.

The S. eupterus are slow growers. I got my two in may at 2" and now they are 3.5".

My buddy keeps threatening to drop off his almost a foot long eupterus here. I got enough big cats as it is. I don't want anymore unless they come with a tank. Wink

Well you cant go wrong with the tank! IMO they are fast growers.

Well an update on the Synos...I lost only one sense getting them. The others are coloring up...well looking better in color anyway. They are pigs and race around a lot...very happy with them as I knew I would be getting anything from the Syno family.
