gots a question for anyone who may feed insects to fish , ever had a problem with parasites or bacteria ? I never have but I seem to read that others in the hobby have , always have had crickets and mealworms because of my waterdragons, seem to be an excellent addition the menu

Mealworms aren't that great for fish due to the the shells containing chitlin, which can cause impaction if you feed them too much of them. .

Except for one Flowerhorn here, none of the fish will touch mealworms, so once in a while he'll get a few as a treat, and I've never seen any problems with it.

did not know that , i will only sparingly bust them out as a treat, al my fish love them, thanks

I have never really had much luck with mealworms and any of my fish, even the jags don't like them. I would try and stick to harvesting any insects yourself. I have dropped a few flies, large mosquitos, and crickets in the tank a few times though with no ill effects.
