oscar - Swimming Oscar! Empty
PostSubject: Swimming Oscar!   oscar - Swimming Oscar! EmptyThu Oct 28, 2010 8:22 pm

I gave my neighbor a 65 breeder setup . He has a oscar in the tank and it is very healthy. My question is everytime I go over their the oscar is faceing upwards like on a 45 degree angle all the time. He swims straight and all but he just floats on an angle while resting. Hard to explain but is this normal oscar behavior? I know africans not south americans. Any help would be appreciated.

They can be fairly lazy fish especially if he is larger and the only fish in the tank. The facing upwards I dk. Does is seem fairly active and healthy otherwise?

There are other fish in the tank. He is healthy and growing fast! He is very active.

My severums like to face up as you can see from my avatar but I've never seen an O do that. Maybe he's just waiting for the next meal to drop down.

I have one that's a lazy bastard. He lays on his side, he lays against the rock and the wall pointing up, once I caught him laying sideways on the prefilter and I totally thought he was dead.

I think it depends on the specific Oscar, but so long as it's eating and acting healthy otherwise, I'd think it's okay.
