ok so im setting up a fish only saltwater tank im keeping a dendrochirus zebra aka zebra or dwarf lion fish in a 29 gallon need new hood light,heater,filter and need to know how to add air to the water i prefer using canister filters around a hundred dollers and with fish only do i need a protein skimmer and want a trickle filter for biological filtration please help!!!!! Exclamation !!!!

ok i will look into those filters!! ok so im most likely gettin the xp2 but will it work in a 29 gallon ok if not i can get the xp1

The xp1 is rated for 45g. I have one on a 29g tank right now and it's doing just fine.

I don't have any xp2s, but they're rated for up to 75g, which most likely means I'd use it on a 55. I do have the xp3s tho and they work great on 75s.

I were you I'd try to do some more research, or talk with some people that really keep saltwater. While I've had really good luck with the Rena canisters, I've never tried them on anything saltwater.

Basically I don't want you to find out the hard way that there are better options in your price range more suited to salt water tanks.

ok so i put in some hours on that to day and im going to get the marine land c series external canister filter supplemented with the Coralife Super Skimmer Needle Wheel Protein Skimmers and the Zoo Med Aquatic Power Sweep Powerhead Wavemaker and to help keep death at the bay i will use the Oceanic Mini Ultraviolet Sterilizer to keep that in check thanks for the info though!!
