PostSubject: Breeding Project Q   Breeding Project Q EmptyTue May 26, 2009 3:55 pm

Ok so some of you have read about my new BG, Gold, EBJD Jack Dempsey breeding project, http://www.freshwatermadness.com/central-american-cichlids-f38/jack-dempsey-craze-t1156.htm Anyway I want to know what you think I should do for tanks? I was going to go today and look at 3 40g breeder tanks with stand tops filters lights etc for 300 bucks. I was thinking that 3 40g breeders might be overkill but was also thinking if I get smaller tanks I will have to upgrade when the two to three pairs become adults. What do you think? Then I was also thinking where to move the fry once I have them....maybe leave them with the parents, that brings up discussion for another tank? Any comments, suggestions, input would be greatly appreciated!!!

Not sure pricing in your area, but 3 40s with filters and all the trimmings for $300 is a very good price. 40s alone in my neck of the woods are near 90 bucks just for the tanks.

They're a little big for grow out tanks, but I think they'd do just fine for when they're adults.

Well I went too look at them and found out they were 40g long tanks...not quite what I was looking for and very filthy with all kinds of paint on them. It was still a good deal but I still have time.

Yea. I thought it was for new stuff, not used. Good luck on the hunt.
