I have found these at my LFS. They are sold as Green Texas, but their clearly a hybrid. Ya know the the black markings on the side of FH? Tis is the marking on these and they also seem to be a darker green than usual. These are the markings on the side I see. No marking on head though. What would be their Max. Size? I might grow one out to 5 inches and give it too my Aunt and put it with her fish in her 55. She has a Channel(which may be eaten soon cause of size), Pictus, some kind of African, and some Crayfish.

Texas Cichlids have similar markings...I would imagine it is just a regular green Texas, they will get to a foot easily.

Nah, it can't be. I've never seen any of the Texas have those markings before. Either a Hybrid or new strain? IDK, but it had the same black markings as a flower horn on the top row, about 10 rows over. Each Cichlid between 3-5 inches has a small, maybe 5 g capacity. Many of them their get sold quick though. I have only seen one fish there for so long, I am tempted to get him. It's an Carprintis "Escondito" and is gorwing toward 5".

Try to get some pics next time you go. There are a lot of Texas listed in the FH section on Aquabid, so I'm guessing FH and Texas will cross. FH seem to be the wild card in SA breeding though. I'd bet the list of what they won't pair up with is much shorter than what they will. Smile

I'd be careful gifting your Aunt with anything with FH in it though. I've had some rehab FH here and the only things they could ever live with were turtles. They're pretty, but they're right bastards.

Well, all that aggression from numeroud fish packed into a 14 inch package mustn't be good.
