Two females could lay eggs that never hatch, for obvious reasons. Wink

As far as the small one, I've never heard of dwarf discus, but who knows. There's lots of crazy things people do to fish.

If you do end up with it be sure to quarantine the hell out of it for a while. That "dwarf" could just be a small adult, or if it really is stunted, it could have other things wrong with it as well.

for as prone to death as discus are though I'm thinking it may just be small.

In one of the TFH issues the past several months, in the Ask Jack column, Jack Wattley talked about how discus growth is sometimes stunted and the fish never reach full size. He also talks about how some fish get all their color at an early age but take a much longer time to reach regular adult size. I can't remember the exact causes off the top of my head. I don't believe there is a "dwarf" strain of discus that has been bred and breeds true, but these stunted fish and fish with delayed growth do make it to various markets and are sold. The question that evoked his discussion concerned 2"-3" discus that showed full adult coloration. I'd hafta guess that "dwarf" discus is an example of one case or the other.

Oh, you meant in my aquarium. Corys, angels, GBR's, plecos, guppies, swords, goldfish, koi, loaches, mollies, discus, apistos, most tetras, some barbs...how about a list of the ones that I don't like. It would only be ones that I don't have...yet.

Discus aren't really my bag but my friend is huge into them and it's usually businesses like Somethin' Stinky down in Florida sellin' poorly cared for sick fish to inexperienced hobbyists. Something I would suggest along with the Q/T on the discus is a potassium permanganate treatment. A lot of the discus folks swear by it and it's been great for my angel breeders.
