| It's the first time I think I've ever said this about a JD but they're so very cute. The pink in them is awesome. Mine are all really really dark, well except for the albino which isn't. | |

| lol That was fun, trying to measure them. Finally the male came out and posed for me right up against the front of the tank, he is 5 3/4". The female refused to cooperate, and just got more and more skittish. And she is protecting wrigglers somewhere also, so I gave up. She appears to be in the 3 to 3 1/2 inch range. Both are fairly young, this is thier 3rd batch of eggs. His growth rate has been incredible this summer. | |

| Thanks. I feed them, and my convict fry also, Hikari gold cichlid pellets and plain old Nutrifin fish flakes. What I do is grind it up in a mortar and pestel till it is a very fine powder. Depending on how long I grind it, I can get it as small as newly hatched brine shrip, and as they get older just a short grind for larger pieces. I have brought convicts up on this menu to full size, but this will be my first attempt on JDs. I'm hoping it works. Do you think there will be a problem leaving them too long with the parents? This is thier 3rd brood, and I had no survivors from the first two. I am going to remove about 70% of the fry and but them in a waiting 5gal fry tank. | |

| Hey! Congrats! I think you have the right idea about moving most of them. I would leave a couple to see what the parents do, they might decide to become really protective if you kidnap the majority of them. Good Luck! | |
