When I saw they belonged to John O'Malley (he was a photographer who contributed to a lot of major magazines and a number of aquarium books as well, passed away unexpectedly) that explained it to some degree. My understanding is Jeff Rapps is trying to make sure all of O'Malley's fish go to good homes amd the proceeds go to his widow and kids. I've looked at the list and have to admit if some of his fish are still around in a coupla months I'll be tempted.

I don't know if a pair would regularly go for that much, I suspect it would be pretty close to that anyways.

Heck, MC, if its a proven pair ya could get your money back in a coupla broods and have a coupla great fish to boot.

You are right Ivan, Those fish did belong to John O'Malley. I dug up some old threads and found this with a whole list rapps had that were O'Malley....look what you find when you go browsing on AC! I think the thread is a couple years old and doubt if they are still for sale.
