Well I figures it was about time to do some over due water parameter checks....I havent checked anything sense the move and I knew the water was much harder here.

Here is what I got...first was the tap.

pH: 8.3-8.4
gH: 230-250 ppm
kH: 200-215 ppm

The tanks readings were similar

pH 8.2
gH 200-215 ppm
Kh 200ppm almost exactly

Good for the Africans a bit hight for the SA/CA's

Now that being said I lost two SD's....friggin sucks but on the bright side I have two Africans holding. The larger Cichlids I have left were in pretty bad shape but coming around fast infact my Severum laid about 500 egs but with no male they all turned white last night and were gone today...maybe they are enjoying the harder water. Green Terror and female JD fighting like crazy but other than that everyone is doing pretty good and healing up fast.

Sorry to here about the SD's.
Good news, if you ever decide to start a mystery snail tank your ph is perfect.

The water company here allows me to input my address and it provides a fact sheet with the water parameters. Ph is reported as 7.64 as is pretty much accurate. Nitrates out of the tap are 12ppm though Sad
