ok people i need your advice. Im getting ready to set up a new 55 gallon discus tank. Any body with some experience or ideas lets have them! Live plants or fake, bare bottom, gravel, sand? keep in mind that im on a budget and ill have some other fish in there too. A small group of corys, some viel angels, and a couple plecos.

In a 55g I think you are going to be stocked with a good group of Discus...I would do sand and live plants.

Live plants and sand. Discus like calm water so stay away from powerful filters. keep your pH low and your Ammonia at 0. Discus are extreamly sensitive to fluctuation in water prams. Keep water temp between 86 and 88. I have 6 discus and if you have any questions feel free to send me a pm
