| *laugh* I've got a tank set aside in the hopes of a few of those goldies myself. Goldies in my neck of the woods are unhealthy crap. As for what's here now, I'm sure I'm forgetting something but too many broken eastern boxies, the aro, the pacu party , some jags, a red devil (with a funky tumor looking growth) less red ear sliders soon, (yay!) but still red ear sliders (boo) a red terror, shell rotten russian torts, some geckos, a gigantic pleco, a ginormus clown loach (still), softies, musk turtles, a razorback musk, shell rotten asian boxies, parrot fish, unknown fish, some cherry barbs (too fast to be feeders) guppies, cons, comets (all feeders) oh yea, and snappy. | |

| With a spawn of say a 100 fry 50 will be gone in the first 10 days these are all throw backs single tail common (feeder fish) at about 28 days another 20 will be gone based on the breed standard ( no dosral fin, round body, etc). Then you have 30 at about 2 month you can begin to look at color and who is shaping up well. At this stage will take out 15 or so more fish that are B fish. the remaining 15 over the next year will not be culls but will be graded into B class A zlass and AA class fish. So who makes the cut 20 Will be B fish( $1 to $2 wholesale) 7 or 8 will be A fish ($5 to $25 wholesale or 15 to 75 retail) 1 or 2 will be AA fish ( $100 to $600 retail) | |

| You must get some spawns that don't produce any AA's?? | |

| Not all spawns will produce "AA" or even "A" fish for that matter. But you will average about 10% "A" an "AA" fish and about 50 to 60% fancy to common overall in a good breeding and culling program. Some Lines and colors breed cleaner that others.
What we do know is
Reciprocal crosses give identical results, that is to say that male and female contributions to the make-up of their progeny are equal. Ihat for every trait contributed by one parent there is a comparable contribution from the other. Genes may exist in alternative states which bring about different expressions of the characters they control.
Hybrids between two different parents could transmit to individual progeny either the trait derived from the female parent or its counterpart from the male but not both.

| So long as you don't mind the occasional pointers for what ends up as turtle treats. I'm in for a batch of grow your own. The kids would love that. | |

| Maybe some Pearlscale and some Ryukins? I like the pearls, but I'm not picky, and the kids were fans of all the pics up on your gallery. As for quantity, part of me wants to say I'll take as many as you want to ship, but I'm afraid of just how many that would be. If you'd like to send up a big bunch, I'd be totally fine with it. There were 37 red ear sliders here at one point last summer and we went through something like a few hundred feeder comets a week. I don't need 'em yet, but I'd be more than happy to stock up now on food for the coming months. As for shipping, I've only ever mailed turtles before and that's always been overnight. So I'll trust you on whatever method you think will work as far as them getting here fine. | |
