Granddaughter????? I'm the same age kygrl and, holy cow, I don't think I could handle a granddaughter...some days I feel old without that reminder!
Best of luck to ya, hope it all works out!
WYite lol! It's a grandson. lol My daughter was 20 when she had him. Can't say too much I was 19 when I had her. The funny thing is he actually makes me forget how old I am sometimes. I guess he forces me to stay young. My back makes me remember!lol Most people that don't know think he is my son and that makes me feel good. He was a preemie and weighed in at 1 and 1/2 pounds when he was born. I took him in and loved him up and now he is a healthy little boy. I was always one that said that I would never raise grandkids, it's funny now. We do what we have to do. I just don't know how people turn their back on children. He was born with so many other problems I felt like he shouldn't have to worry about being taken care of on top of that. I feel so blessed to have him. (not that I would want another) lol

| Well, I went to Petco last night hoping that the Congo tetras came in and of course they didn't. I did pick up four diamond tetras. They are gorgeous. They were kinda faded last night. I have them in quarantine and they are sparkling so much more today. YAY! I believe they will look so good in the 49 gallon. I'm still wanting the congos!! I promise pictures when they go in the main tank. | |

| Hey, milady, glad ya could stop in and let us know your well!
I can't decide whether I'm POed, annoyed, dissappointed or a bit of all of the above. My daughter's stepdad went and bought her a car, unannounced to anyone. Now let me clarify: he's a good guy and I like him, which I can't say for the ex's other two husbands and the long stream of boyfriends she's had in the 16 years since we split up. But ya know, I was lookin' forward to takin' my daughter lookin' for a car and buyin' it for her. Kind of a Dad thing, I guess. Anyways, just needed to vent a bit, maybe it'll help me sort it out.

| I can understand how that would aggrivate you. I hope he did it out of love for her and not to show you up. My daughter just got her permit and believe me it will be her step dad (my hubby) helping her get a car. When my son got his truck it was his step dad that helped. His dad said he wasn't going to be responsible for it. He's a dip-shit!! Look on the bright side. She has someone that cares enough to do that for her. It's her first car. Dad can get her second car which is always better than the first. Especially if she gets to pick it out. My first car was a GMC Pacer. It was a piece of crap! I got so much flack for that car!! My second car was a mustang!!!! I loved that car. :kiss2: | |

| Okay, so I have a funny real life story for everyone. I saved a turtle today from the horrors of the highway. Funny because I said I would never save another turtle as long as I lived!! Which brings me to the funny story that happened a year ago. I have always loved turtles, big or small I always thought they were fascinating creatures. I'm on my way to town to do some shopping and out in the middle of the road is a large turtle. I stopped right beside him to have a look. I knew it was a snapper just by looking at him. Poor thing was beat up pretty good. I figured if I could sneak up behind him I could grab him and take him to the ditch. So I pull in my neighbors drive(which are friends) and his son and the son's girlfriend came out to see what was going on. I told them and of course they wanted to watch. Well all was calm I slowly walked up behind the turtle and started to bend down and grab him quickly. What happened next I never knew a turtle could do. This darn thing jumped three feet in the air and turned around like it was a Matrix turtle. I hear a loud snap and the thing was now facing me on the ground!!!!!!!!!!!! Of course, i'm screaming like a teenager! I'm also running towards the truck. But half way there I was thinking, "it's just scared." So I ask the son if he had a shovel.(he was now on the porch with the girlfriend) Of course he had one and got it. I took the shovel and started back, of course the thing had now double in size!lol I proceeded to scoop the turtle up and if that darn thing didn't try to eat the shovel my name isn't Tina!!! He was a heavy sucker too! Somehow I did manage to get him to the ditch but whew it was a workout and a half to get him there.
Now couldn't you see me going to the emergency room? Then 40, packing a baby and trying to explain to the doctor how I got the huge gash!!
Sorry if I bored you. The turtle I saved this morning was small. It made me think of that day last summer when I swore off turtles for life.
Okay there's my story for the day. I know some of you have funny real life stories to share. Post them up!!! I need a good laugh!
