ah earth day and ive been meanin to ask this for a while.first off my water from water changes can go into the garden right? i mean christ its gotta be cleaner than the rain in chicago or milwaukee. also anyone know of a way or anything that i can recycle lots of water. like when i do a 25% change on the 135 thats a shitton of water being flushed. is there a way to filter out the nitrites/amonia/etc and reuse it in a tank? at first this was a cost issue but now im seeing it more for mama earth.i hate throwin that away. i know its a drop in the bucket like all the rednecks i work with say but i wanna do what i can to leave my little man a decent planet to live on.

Watering your garden with the tank water is fine, lot of people do it. The water changes are to keep the nitrate levels down and at a safe level for your fish. The plants in your garden will absorb the nitrate in the tank water and this will help them grow.

I'm sure there are ways to filter the water, but I'm sure the plants in the garden would rather have it.

Waste water makes great fertilizer for house and garden plants. I give bottles of it to a few friends for their plants.

Yep. I use my water changes on plants here too. House plants and the garden.

The fish farm has a hydroponic set up for plants that one of the guys there built, and in the summer they irrigate the farm next door.

I'm sure there's some more ways to recycle water but plants seem to be the biggie.
