I picked up one Water Lettuce plant at a store called Shy's Feed & Pets. This is plant is growing fast! I already harvested a dozen or so and sold them back to them. I only get .50c each store credit but every penny helps!

The little slider hides under the plants with just his nose sticking out most of the time. It always slips under the water when I get close enough to to take a pic. I'm going to start tossing in a few cichlid sticks and camp out by the pond and try to get a shot of him. When I do I will post for you all. I really didnt think the little guy would stay around. I found him just after we had a flash flood here about three weeks ago.

If you feed him from the same spot on a regular basis, he'll come out and get friendly with you. I don't know the weather in your area, but if he camps out, that pond is too small to hibernate though the winter.

Thanks for the advice! I do keep 2 small submerged heaters in the pond in the colder months. I will set up something in the basement for him if that dosn't work out.
